anybody here shoot dime size groups
Was at the range the other day and this older man maybe 65-70 years old, was shooting a Ruger MKIII 22lr with scope 35 yards from a sand bag rest, and all 5 targets had dime size groups (10 shot each). i thought this was pretty dang good.[:p] im not a bad shot but it made me feel bad shooting next to him
so anybody else here shoot like this[?]

My very first rem 40x that I got used ($325) with a 27" heart barrel in 1985.
Took it to the range fired 3 shots with factory ammo, I had only seen one hole at about 2" 3 o'clock from the bull.
Thinking, great this thing is shot out. Well after looking at the target up close and not thru the scope, it was one ragged hole[:p][:p][:p]0 -

i shot a 4 shot dime sized group with a 308 at 50yrds no rest or vice from the prone position 0 -
I ues to be able to shoot a 3 round dime size pattern at 100 yds. with this rifle using only the bipod and laying prone.
This has been several years back, and I haven't shot it for along time, so I don't know if it's dialed in.0 -
Was way out in the desert When a sparrow flew up about 25 yards away. Pulled my Dan Wesson 357 and shot like I was shooting a shotgun leading him just slightly. All there was, was a puff of feathers.
One of the big thing in group size is practice. Had at least 8,000 rounds thru that pistol. Could hit what I wanted.0 -

Using a NEF .17 with a GUIDE GEAR (Chinese made) 6.5x20x50 @ 100 yds.
The scope out of the box wasn't even on the backdrop. After a few experimental shots I discovered it was shooting waaaaaay to the right. I adjusted, and adjusted, and adjusted,,getting closer to the mark each time. Then when I got about an inch away from the mark, I ran out of windage adjustment. Moral of the story, don't buy a GUIDE GEAR scope.
Thos is the reason I prefer to use Leupold bases and rings they have course windage adjustments on the rear base so that you can make your major adjustments on the base then fine tune the rest with the windage on the scope[;)]0
