Everyone's computer problems

Seems there was a recent Windows Automatic Update rolled out. I have mine set up to wait until I tell it to do the update.

After the update was installed, I got the black screen on reboot. I did a forced power down and reboot. The second reboot worked fine. Shut down normally and did a third reboot and ran a scan. Got the same Spybot warning JamesRK got. Looks like the issue is in the update, and a reboot or two gets you past it.

    Run a Nacintosh here and don't have problems like that.

    this last update has had many issues, allot depends on the version of xp you are running {there are more than home,pro}, also configuration of the bios

    after jamesrk posted his problem i started reading about this last security update crashing computers, mainly dell

    Yep, mine's a Dell. It burped, but it's fine now.

    my comp has been burpin all week .

    i have an aol active update id like to take out back and put a bullet in too .dont want to download it and cant find it to delete the damned thing ......

    I want to update. Mine downloaded the update and installed it fine. This morning it is running the virus scan and finding Trojan horse downloader and trojan horses. After it finishes I will delete them and reboot. I hope all goes well, I also have a Dell.

    Mine updated and ran just fine last night. Woke up this morning to "Your computer has installed updated and rebooted."

    Wait until March when Vista users download SP1... that should be fairly disastrous.
