Why we are at war!

I first saw this in an email a couple years ago, still a good read. 0 -
kind of a propagandistic piece of "mierda" if you ask me. 0 -

"Mierda" (Spanish; "poop") is the title of a hip hop song recorded by the Spanish group Violadores del Verso. It was released in 1999 in a CD single of the same name.0 -
"But daddy, explain why when Mr Saddam lived down the street from us he'd beat his children all the time and you never said a thing about it because he hated those Iranian people who lived next door to him? Daddy when those Muslim people from Afganistan were fighting with the Russian people down the street you gave them some of your own guns for protection but now you are always fighting with those same Muslims and saying that they should be wiped off the face of the earth. I don't understand daddy"
"Shut up and go to your room"!0 -

Seems accurate0 -
Now kristov...you know that we have allies that were once enemies.
We ally ourselves to work in our best interest at that junction in history. The Afghan rebels were doing the job that we could not do without starting WW III...shooting at the Soviets.
Now the Russians are our allies and the Taliban are our enemies.
Iraq was friendly to us at one time as was Iran. We chose to let our then buddy Saddam shoot at the Iranians instead of us doing it.
Its the way foreign policy works. And the US military is a big part of foreign policy.0 -
we ar NOT at war, congress must declare war,
this "emergency powers" garbage is unconstitutional treason!0 -

Well in 1775 we were not at war then either until techniquely 1776.
congress or not we are engaged in a regional conflict or war.0 -
Turning our backs on evil in order to achieve some sort of "useful goal" is never in this country's best interest and always comes back later to bite us in the a$$. Using that thinking we should have been backing Hitler in order to fight communisim. Naturally if we would have turned a blind eye to Japanese expasionisim in the Pacific in the 1930s and never slapped them with an embargo on oil and steel we would have been left alone on December 07, 1941 and lived happily ever after with imperial Nippon ruling China and all of Southeast Asia. 0 -

IIRC we did not have a constitution in 1775, therefore it was impossible to be in violation thereof.
mark my words: President Bush's "emergency powers" are no more constitutional than "gun control"0
