    Yep, those oil companies and the politicians who feed on them have a real incentive to develop an alternative energy source. Meanwhile, keep on buying those gas guzzling SUVs.

    While I'm sure the money is a fair amount, reportedly the U.S. imports only about 10% of our oil from the mid-east. The bulk of the imported oil coming from Mexico and Canada.
    Also heard a report that IF we could get past evironmentalism and actually start drilling for the known reserves we have in Alaska and the Gulf of Mexico. That we actually have MORE oil than Iraq.

    Dcon- Bill's house was not $50 Mill- it was $21 Mill. Was involved in the construction. Personally, was delighted to see the guy get to spend some of what he made. Construction workers on the site that met him and the missus all said they were really nice folks.

    correct me if i'm wrong but weren't we the ones that discovered they had oil, and made them rich?

    as far as them eating sand, we could stop buying their oil today, they have enough cash to last many, many lifetimes from the interest alone
