Yeah, I been just going over Whites pass. A little longer, but a lot less bozos and they don't close it when it snows five snow flakes.0 -

ECC; Are these pics anyplace close to New Meadows?
I spent some time in Idaho for the first time ever this past summer up in that area as my brother in law has a place North of there. It looks very similar to your pics.
I am learning how to fly fish as is my wife and what an experience we had doing so all through that area and East.
I am bran new to the forum so I hope I can spend some time here picking everyones mind as I am unable to travel anyplace right now due to the weather.
The wife and I drove up here to our place in Ocean Park to check on the damage from the last wind storm. We found plenty of trees down but fortunately none of them hit any of our structures.
However we wanted to get home in time to vote and now we can't leave here to go back to Phoenix.
I talked to my dad in Walla Walla and hea said the roads are horrible and getting worse. My grandson in Boise said the roads are all but closed and getting worse and talked to my son in Evanston Wy and he said it looks like the blizzard of 49 and now it is beginning to get worse.
I grew up in Wy and am no stranger to driving on snow and ice, but am not going to head into a possible blizzard. So I guess we will stay here at the beach in our camper and wait for the snow to melt.0 -

Thanks for the welcome. So far I like what I see on this forum. Sounds like nice people with lots of the comeraderie that one likes to see from shooters and gunowners.
Like I said, it was my first time in Id and it did not look like that in last week of Sept but still in its' way absolutely beautiful.
We entered at Lewiston and then south all the way to Banks and then East. We stopped and fished every body of water we crossed for nearly two weeks, then went south to Boise and East into Wy.
As far as all that snow being beautiful, I grew up on a working cattle ranch in the mountains of SW Wy and all it does for me is bring back memories of having to harness a team of horses every morn at 30 to 55 below zeroe and go out to feed those cows. Even the team of horses didn't like it.
Anyway, the pics are pretty and the countryside is beautiful as well.
I have to say, I think IMHO the state of Id is to be complemented on their upkeep of state parks, campgrounds and all of their outdoor activities and support.
I have seen nothing like it in any of the other states we have traveled and that includes Yellowstone.
In fact again IMHO the people responsible for Yellowstone should be taken out and given lashes for their utter contempt for one of the most often visited parks in the world. It is criminal and it wasn't always the way it is now.
When I graduated HS I worked on a "bug" crew in the West Thumb of the Park and to say it was well kempt is truly an understatement. But it is falling down around their ears now and no one seems to give a hoot.
sorry for the rant.
Id is great and anyone who has the chance to visit will no doubt have the opportunity to see and enjoy it just as we did and those responsible are to be congratulated.

That snow looks wonderful ... for you ... not me.
We keep all our snow behind those buildings - about 40 miles east,
at around 6,000 feet. That keeps our roads from getting too slick.

It's supposed to dump a foot of snow on us here in the Ozarks tomorrow.
