Daughter Dried her cat

My daughter noticed the dryer wasnt running with the clothes that were just put in, so like a dutiful child she closed the door and turned it on and went about her business. We all heard thuds in the dryer but thought it was tennis shoes in the dryer. My daughter heard it and opened the door, he cat almost fell out of the dryer, my daughter flew into hysterics, snatched up the dazed and disoriented cat (not to mention warm) and came running and bawling to me to check her out. The cat almost lept into my arms and attached herself to my shoulder via some not unsharp claws. and started that cat wail that they all have. I am a medic by trade not a vet so I checked her over the best I could, no broken bones no injuries that I could find, the cat was scared half to death and did not want me to put her down. I got her to my daughters room gave her some water and food and my kid and I sat with the cat for a bit till it calmed down. about an hour later the cat comes slowly walking into the den and hopped into my lap (which she never did before) and lay down and began to purr. a half hour of that and she got down and went to the couch and went to sleep. she seems fine now maybe walking a little stiffly but nothing else. Daughter still upset about it, but I bet she checks the dryer from now on.

    I did that once but as soon as I heard the first two thud, thud's, I stopped it because I knew there were no tennis shoes in the dryer. The cat came out quick, but since it was only a couple of turns, he wasn't any worse for the wear.

    My family's cat once got stuck in the dryer too. I don't think it did more than a couple revolutions before my mother decided that 'thud, thud' shouldn't be coming out of the dryer.

    Anyway, I'm glad to hear that it didn't come out worse for your kitty.

    MY STEP-DAUGHTER THOUGHT THE CAT WAS DIRTY SO SHE PUT IT IN THE DISH WASHER THANKS GOD MY WIFE SAW HER DO IT AND STOPPED HER.AND JUST TO CLAIRIFLY MY STEP DAUGHTER WAS 1 YEAR OLD AND WE EXPLAN TO HER COUPLE OF DAYS EARLIER WHAT THE DISH WASHER DID![?]

    My little brother once used a hair dryer to dry a hampster. He was upset when the hampster wouldn't let him hold it any longer.

    It was in the news and everything - "Cat survived complete washcycle" or something like that.

    Remember it for some reason liked to sleep in the drum of the washingmachine - I don't know why the owners didn't prevent that but they used to check the drum for that very reason.

    I think it was in the brittish news and I recall it made headlines here in Europe at least.

    They were happy that it wasn't hot wash - but only regular wash.
    The cat was unconcious because of the water being so cold - and probably the wild ride offcourse.




    I guess this Pet Spa is the most humane "Kitty Washingmachine"... [:D]

    this is a no BS story, many years ago in Canton Ohio, (abt.1948ad) there was a brick kiln, on the Southeast side of town, when opened a cat ran out, these brick kilns get extremely hot and it was sealed for about 4 or 5 days, this made the news in the Canton Repository and WHBC radio, i was just a kid at the time but still remember that incident.

    the vet i used to work for did the same thing when she is vet school. but the cat didnt make it.

    vanessa my 7yr old put three kittens in the microwave when she was 3. the cats spent 8 hours in there,,lucky she didnt hit the button,when asked why she did it she said they were bothering me..needless to say the microwave was not the same after that.

    I clean my toilet and cat at the same time.

    1. Put a litle liquid soap in the toilet.

    2. Grab the cat and put her in the toilet, close both seat and lid. This must be done quickly as the cat won't probably won't like it.

    3. Sit down and wait a few minutes as cat self agitates the toilet bowl.

    4. Flush toilet. This rinses cat as well and toilet. Several flushes may be necessary to remove all the soap from the cat.

    5. Make sure you are not standing between the toilet and the door. Raise the lid.

    Both the cat and toilet are sparkling clean.

    e8gm, remind me never to ask you to house sit for me. We have two cats. Still, I could not hep laughing reading your post and JWolf's original one. Sometimes I think cats were created to provide comic relief for humans, other times, I know they were.
