Trioxane......compressed fuel
bought some of this at a gun show last weekend, guy said its good for starting fires with damp wood, apparently the military uses it for heating rations. Can anyone tell me more about this stuff. Safe?

The fumes it gives off are highly irritating and maybe toxic. Only use outdoors, never in a tent or room in a building. I accidentally breathed some in on a very still day while bending over something I was heating up. It got me good. Definitely needs ventilation if used for cooking. Starting camp fires would probably generate so much draft and turbulence that the poisonous fumes wouldn't be noticed. 0 -

it will turn to powder in a couple years but it is good for quick heating your coffee. 0
