S&W Quiz for the day...
Pictured below is a trio of K frame S&W revolvers dating from the early 1950s. One of them is a .38 and the other two are .22 caliber. Can you determine which gun is what caliber by looking at the photo? How can you tell which is which?

I will guess the front revolver is the 38 0 -
The one in the front is the 38.
The 22s have the firing pin retaining pin showing,just below the rear sight.
Also you can see the firing pin rivet on the hammer for the 38 in the front one.
The 22's are rimfire of course and have a flat faced hammer.0 -

MVP, you are correct but you didn't state how you knew so you may have made a lucky guess.
dg101win correctly noted that the rim fire models have a frame-mounted firing pin and the retaining pin can indeed be seen in the frame just in front of the hammer. Also, the retaining pin on the 38's hammer-mounted firing pin can be clearly seen in the hammer while the .22s lack this feature.

That is how I guessed was with the fireing pin.

Pretty revolvers. I would have guessed that the gun up front is the
.38 because of larger flutes in the cylinder. No?0
