Football Pro Dies Cleaning Gun
TODAY AN AUTOPSY WILL BE PERFOMRED TO DETERMINE WHAT CAUSED THE DEATH OF A FORMER HOUSTON OILERS LINEBACKER.
THE BODY OF JOHN GRIMSLEY WAS FOUND INSIDE HIS MISSOURI CITY HOME YESTERDAY.
INVESTIGATORS SAY IT APPEARS GRIMSLEY ACCIDENTALLY SHOT HIMSELF WHILE HE WAS CLEANING HIS GUNS.
HE PLAYED FOR THE OILERS FROM 1984 TO 1990.
THE 45 YEAR OLD IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE AND TWO COLLEGE-AGED SONS.
Sorry for the Cut and paste but I feel it's a good to share these as a reminder to practice extreme caution, even though I feel it's odd that so many cases like this occur. This is the third accidental shooting while cleaning in my AO this month.

Clearly this is a "self-inflicted" gunshot. Whether it was negligent/accidental or intentional is not necessarily going to be publicized. 0 -
I had a girlfriend who's father killed himself "accidentally" while cleaning hos bolt action rifle.
Think about that.
I could/would not explain the unlikeness of this and hurt her feelings and just told her how sorry i was to hear that (before I met her).

I don't understand this. I have never once, in my entire life, cleaned a gun within 1 floor of the ammo. When I clean my guns, the ammo is in another room/floor. 0
