IS IT ME OR ARE THE RETAIL FOLK RUDE

We all know they can be but hey, cmon..I go to mcsleezy for lunch today and i was feeling fat so i large sized my meal. As i left the drive thru i noticed my fries where lite,,,like really really lite..So i went in and handed the mgr my fries and said whats up with this..they where half full..She looks thru the bag and then my mouth as if i ate them and wanted 30cents more worth of fries. She says this,,ohh yeah she did,,she says my people would never fill the fries like that but i will fill it for you again...again??? needless to say i fired that mcdonalds..In fact im firing fast food untill further notice[:(!][xx(][:p]

    I used to complain when I had a bad experance at a fast food place, but it is so common now that if I find a good employee I will make sure that I tell the manager how wonderful they are.

    That's what you get for going to junkboxes. Try a down-home cafe instead, preferably with a waitress named Darlene who calls you "Hon," tells you to eat your vegetables, and has pictures of her kids on the wall (usually one in uniform).

    Then go to a little retail shop, maybe a neighborhood gun store, and have a nice visit, in English by God, with the proprietor.

    Actually, you'd be surprised at what the actual trainig tells them to put in your french fry package. It isn't much compared to what you usually get. You usually get more ice cream than what the training dictates as well when you order an ice cream cone.

    Yes, I was a McDonald's employee. It was my night job in the summer when I was a young punk. They always kept me in drive-thru because customers liked my personality and voice on the microphone. I never flipped a burger over 2 summers of McDonald's work.

    Since we are busy as all get out we have been ordering delivery lately. There aren't many places that deliver to the store...pizza and OTHER pizza. The one "better joint" we get from time to time keeps getting my dinky salad order wrong. I have called and they have made it right....but I am not happy when I think about ordering from them again.

    And where would places like that be in Northern Virginia? LOL

    Amen. Reward good service with praise when someone goes out of their way to get the job done right and then some.

    Too many people don't complain about bad service. There's a difference between being a crank if you don't have your feet washed at the door but there truly is some BAD service out there. In a market like this, you'd be surprised at what kind of response you can get from a legitimate issue that you raise with management. I just got a full refund for tax prep because of the incompetence that I had to fix. I practically taught the lady how to use her software, where to plug in info from a 1099, where to enter deductions and the tax implications of Traditional IRA contributions. It took me and three other employees to get my taxes filed correctly.

    Also, don't pay full price at retail. I talked a $350 watch down to $210 at a jewlery store once. There's a right way to do it. Most retail establishments won't tell you this but you can talk yourself into a better price than the "limited-time-only sale price".

    I worked as a bag boy in high school. Where I worked you could to a lot of stuff wrong but nothing brought on the owners wrath like being rude or snotty to a customer. That lesson has served me well most of my life.

    I worked in Fast Food for 2 weeks then got fired for telling the Manager about the other employees wizzing in the back sink instead of the restroom.[B)]
