What type of extractor???

This is my handgun, it is a Kimber Custom II TLE/RL:

A friend the other day what typr of extractor my Kimber had. Being new to firearms I am still learning and was wondering if you guys could help and what the different extractors mean.

  My guess is he is refering to internal or external.

  Yours (if it is just like the one in the link) has an INTERNAL extractor.
  
  External extractors are visible from the outside. Look up a Browning Hi-Power. This another John Browning design (like the 1911) but it currently has an external extractor (the original design was changed in 1962, from internal to external).
