Planning a trip.
When I get home from my next deployment, I'm going to take a motorcycle trip for a couple of weeks. My planned route is going to take me from northern Wisconsin through the states I'll list later.
Now, my question is, anyone who lives in the states I'm going to list shortly who would be up to some company, send me an email telling me what town/city you live in so I can see how far off my planned route of travel it will be. I'll let you know if I'm going to plan on stopping in.
BTW, this trip won't be for about 2 years. I just want to get a general idea of how long I should take for it.

If your going to take a Gixxer on your trip than plan on stopping alot. I wouldn't take my Gixxer on a long trip like this.
The bike your riding now would be a better chose. On just the weight alone. Your find the Gixxer being blow around all over the road, especially the interstate. I find myself leaning my bike into semi's to compensate for this. It's also not what I would call a comfortable long distance bike. It has no luggage room also.
I would suggest a Aprilia Futura. It's a bigger, heavier more comfortable bike. It has bag's(suit cases) for luggage. They ride awesome and look great.

The 900C may be a nicer ride. As was already stated it also has some room for a few niceties (rain gear, cloths, etc). I've done rides w/o a windshield when I was younger, but to go very far now, they sure are nice if you can add one! 0 -

The 900C is in rough shape, and I wouldn't trust it for that long of a ride. That's why I'm not going to take it. It uses (or leaks) oil to the point were I have to put a full quart in it ever 2 to 3 tanks of fuel.0 -

The drive through Tennessee and Virginia should be awesome if you are traveling I85. The mountains are awesome to see. I like in KC Kansas now, not sure where I'll be in two years, I just retired from the Air Force myself. Enjoy the traveling man, you deserve it. God speed friend. 0 -
