Fix-a-flat and TPMS

I found an unintended consequence of using fix-a-flat. It ruins the tire pressure monitoring system (TMPS) sensors. In fact, it is so bad that it gums them up to the point where you cannot fill or remove air from that tire. These are around $50 to replace plus another $50 for the dealer to program them into your car.

Your best bet is to use the spare and get the tire fixed as soon as possible.

Also most Ford vehicles make a LOUD ANNOYING chime every 3 minutes if the TPMS registers as "very low" (there is low and very low) on any wheel (not the spare though). ONLY ford can disable this "feature" and frequently will refuse to do it citing safety reasons.
