Oh how I miss my son ...

I was TDY in Colorado Springs but stayed a couple of days extra to spend some time with my eldest son. I took him and 3 other cadets to dinner last Friday and we had a blast.

I enjoyed talking to all of them and how proud I am for what they have accomplished and what the Academy have done to this young airmen as future leaders.

But I cannot help myself wonder where the time has been. Seems like it was just yesterday when I cradle him in my loving arms. Thank you Lord for my blessings.

Just another proud Dad moment. [^]

    Yep, my Daughter is over in Iraq right now - I am FullProud of her, and miss her like heck.

    I remember her birth like yesterday.

    You being Military, you know what your son has volunteered for. I am sure it sharpens your Admiration and Love for his effort.

    my family as served in 95 percent of america,s wars since the french and indian wars to iraq, not to much is said about it, it just seemed like the right thing to do. for us its some thing we owe this country. eastbank.

    Yes the gene pool needs chlorine,,, I agree,,, Hand load,,, I salute your daughter. I didn't run into many women in the military, but that was long ago and far away.

    These are tough times at USAFA right now, what we used to call "The Dark Ages." At just after 4PM the sun sets behind the foothills, and it gets dark FAST. I used to get very depressed there this time of year. However, there is a light at the end of the tunnel...providing the Cadet Wing doesn't have it shut off due to budget restraints.

    We also used to cheer ourselves up by saying "The beatings will continue until morale improves."

    God bless your son, all cadets/midshipmen, and all the men and women serving in America's armed forces.

    I know what you mean, my oldest will be 22 the 10th of this month and my daughter will be 15 the 26th. Time flies when you're having fun.
