    That's one cool machine.
    Saw that on modern marvels (i think), they touted it as a more environmentally friendly logger, since it has less impact on the surrounding land, and trees that are not to be cut.

    A timbering company here has a walking harvester that they use.
    When they were timbering a tract here locally they were a pretty little gal operating it.

    It was unreal how it could grab a tree of any size, cut it off at ground level and then lay it where ever it wanted. Then pull the tree back through itself ripping the limbs off and cutting the trunk to length.

    The gal told me that they used it mainly along streams where the trees seem to grow straighter and a dozer would cause to much damage getting the timber out.
