I saw a John Deere 4430 once that was haulling two wagons to the elevator. He had to cross the RR tracks first. He didn't see that train coming soon enough. He slid into the intersection. Train took off the engine just before the cab. Never brook a window. 0 -
I have to give props to the front end loader. Its hold the whole weight of the tractor. Not only that, but it held up to all the force that happened during the accident. [:D]
Thats not the first tractor I have seen split in half, but thats the first under those circumstances. I wonder how bad his balls hurt after hitting the steering wheel?0 -
I could be completely off base here, but it looks to me like the tractor was maybe being hauled on the trailer, which came loose from the pickup sitting on the side of the road. Trailer stopped, tractor didn't and the rest was history? Anyone else think this might be what happened? 0 -

Very possible. The loader is defenately a "grapple-bucket", and it WOULD have been down during trailering.I also noticed, the W/shield on the tractor isn't PUSHED-OUT, like a driver had impacted it.

Not a detective at all. Did used to go on a few recoveries with a wrecker while working as a mechanic in farming country though. Have seen things like that happen and the results looked a lot like this.
Almost forgot, never played one on tv either and never stayed in a holiday inn, but have been to a best western or two.[:D]0 -

I have seen two attached items come lose before, one wagon, one trailer, neither one went straight after they were detached.0 -
Look at the road directly under and behind the tongue of the trailer in the third picture. See the plowed out area? The front end loader did not plow that narrow furrow. Now, look farther forward where the bucket hit the ground, nice wide gouge there. I tell you, as I see it the trailer came loose, the tongue dug in and stopped the trailer abruptly, and the tractor came over the front of the trailer and folded over the bucket. 0 -
