SOMETHING A BIT DIFFERENT..

Classic wanted an omelet for lunch/breakfast so I thought of something a tad different for him..

He took a bite out of it, his eyes got big and he said "GOOD"


3 eggs
chopped ham
mexican cheese (shredded different cheeses)

Do as you normally do, and when the eggs are set, add the ham and cheese....Then comes the next ingredient...

SALSA...

oh yea, put a tablespoon or so on top of the cheese and ham....Fold the omelet as usual, finish cooking and serve..I used medium

Damn its good...

    BR, give smoked salmon and cream cheese a try in an omelet sometime.
    Thats a real good combination too.

    Pretty standard fare in my part of the world Beth, but instead of ham it is usually chorizo. I don't like either and go for crumbled bacon.

    We have been putting picante sauce in omeletes forever.

    I made one the other day with pepperoni and cheese. The kids called it a pizza omelet and loved it.

    If you have some powdered buttermilk ranch dressing mix, sprinkle some of that into your omelet or scrambled egg mix. Makes 'em fluffier and adds a great flavor.

    A tip from an old cow-camp cook (me).

    I've put salsa on omelets, but I don't think I've had one with the salsa cooked into the omelet. Sounds good. I'll get the wife to try that. [:)]

    i took some ground beef smashed it into a patty cooked it in a pan, and then put cheese on it, then served it on a bun mmmmm was it good[:D]

    Gotta remember guys, where I was born there are a lot of italians, not mexicans...so salsa is not that popular up there...Tomato sauce yes, italian food ohhhhh yea, mexican? not really that popular..

    I've always cooked huevos rancheros with the eggs "up", the pan covered, and baked in the oven.

    What i wanna know is, who makes a "BURGER" out of HAM???
    I do know where the name came from... German immigrants from "HAMBURG", supposedly were the first to make chopped-meat patties... I doubt it though.Prob. some one from OHIO...[:0]

    EXAAaaaactly... The only "chain" i have ever heard of that's decent, is in Cali. I think their called "Del Taco" or some such...I never been to one, but friends have.They may be more places now, but used to only be in "Komifornia".[;)]
