Roses....Feb the month to plant?

I want to put some climbing roses on our pasture fence. I know there are better times to plant certain things. Since I am not a patient person what can I plant this time of year in the not so forgiving South? Even if its not a good rose time....what about fruit trees....or other general plants?

    Donno about it being the month to plant... but it sure is the month to sell them. Store here went from 9.99 a dozen to 29.99 a half dozen!

    There's 5 feet of snow on the ground and the ground is froze to a depth of about 18". Feb. is not a good time to plant anything. [}:)]

    Here, any/all months are good to pant.
    Root stocks are out now - just saw some
    today.

    the hagerstown (Md) almanack states for feb.
    days for planting above ground crops 27 poor 26,18 good 17, 9,better 8th is best
    days for planting root crops 13,poor 12,25,24 better 23,5 better, 4,3 are best

    Thank you very much! I haven't had much luck with plants in my past....but I have never been in a house that I planned to live in forever before. You just don't try all that hard if you know you will eventually move (at least I didn't.) I went with easy shrubs and minimal decorative type plants.....but now I want to do better.
