quick rant to make me feel better...
why is it that any bonehead criminal can get a hold of a firearm illegally...But when I (a law-abiding citizen, with CCW, never been arrested) gets delayed on a firearms purchase by the Feds!!!! Drives me up a freakin' wall. Then, the transfer dealer looks at me and asks if I've been arrested in the last few months since I bought my last gun. Are you friggin kidding me??? Now I'm getting looked at like a criminal while Shariq and Jayquan are out selling drugs with their new ghetto 9mm[:(!]

it happens to me all the time. Here in NC, if you have a CCW, you can purchase a handgun or long gun w/ just simply filling out a 4473; no call-in, no pistol permit.
if you do not have a CCW, you can use a pistol permit to purchase one or multiple long guns, as long as you do it all in one transaction.
if you do not have a CCW, and desire to purchase a pistol or revolver, you must obtain a permit to purchase from the Sheriff's dept.
it is a hassle being delayed,, and i can almost set my watch by how long NICS calls back w/ a "proceed".
i need to go ahead and get my CCW, so i do not have to go through the hassle of pistol permits and NICS delays.0 -

CCW does not help here...actually I do not get run through state but still Feds. They delay me about every 3rd or 4th gun. Usually for about 3 days!!! I think they just feel like being pecker heads every now and then.0 -
You need to buy your guns from Shariq and Jayquan. I hear they have some good deals just be sure to wear gloves. [8D]

You need to grab that seller and dunk his head in a bucket of ice cold water....he is a moron. Everyone gets a delay from time to time. Its usually more expected during lunch hours....end of the work day....holidays. I can't believe anyone who sells firearms would be so stupid as to say "have you been arrested" to the buyer. You need to tell the owner of the store what that moron said. I know if one of the guys said that to you in the store I would have a complete fit and they wouldn't do it again.
I hear Alabama is trying to get things set up so that the people with permits are able to walk out without the call being made on the 4473....but I will believe it when I see it. Don't think twice about the delay. Its the other end of the transaction. They delay people when they can't do what they need to and get behind on their side. Again.....slap that idiot! Really.0
