    I have a M695 .300 WinMag and a M595 .22-250. They are two of my favorite guns in the stable. [8D]

    Your "Model 1878" Trapdoor Springfield is actually a Model 1873. There was no Model 1878 but the "3" is very tightly looped on the breechblock and is often mistaken for an "8". Look at it with a magnifying glass and compare it to the "8" in 1873 and you will see that it's really a "3".

    Sometimes I buy the guns from other stores (mainly pawn shops that are more typical pawn shops and not gun stores) and there is usually a PILE of shotguns and cheap 22s. What I can think of at the moment that I have are a few Glenfields and a couple of what is now the Remington #5 (Charles Daly bolt action with a clip.) Right now there isn't enough to put a "lot" on auction...but I will watch for them when the other stores call needing quick cash.
