Toyota Tundra

Been drivin' the wife's new Tundra the last few weeks. Gotta say... Nice RIDE!

Got me to reading up on what Toyota is planning in the future.
Found that Nissan is planning on putting a Cummins V8 into the TITAN in 2016.
And that Toyota may do the same...

Anyone else read this anywhere?
Any idea if Toyota is planning or confirmed they are going to put a Cummins V8 into the TUNDRA in 2016???

    anyone know what the pay load is on one, Iv been told they are a half ton but are rated a 3/4 ton by todays standards

    Im going to be buying a newer truck in the next year and will usiing it to pull a camper and also a gooseneck trailer was thinking about one of the tundras or a ford f250

    Got to buy a new truck "four wheel drive" and I have been looking at the tundra's. Anyone own one, and if so what do you think about it. Would you recommend buying one.

    thinking of buying a tundra this spring after graduation. it will be used, anyone recommend a year? was it 2008 when it was truck of the year? Is this something you would put into consideration?

    Any knowledgeable advice appreciated

    I just got done looking at midsize trucks. The Tundra just did nothing at all for me. I bought a new Dakota. V8 power and fuel mileage the same as the others and better than the Tundra. The lifetime warranty is also good.

    Friend of mine has one. He loves it except when he pulls anything. Then he hates it. Gas mileage plummets. On hunting trip to Nebraska, he pulled a small trailer and got 9 1/2 mpg on the way back.

    He said above all else, don't pull anything with cruise control on. Mileage really plummets then. On the way up there, he pulled with cruise control on and got 5 1/2 mpg.

    Son in Law bought one loves it, paid almost 10 large more than my son did for a similar Ford F-150.

    I have one. I love it. I've had now problems since I bought it five years ago.

    I've had one for 5 years. Best vehicle I've ever owned - never been in the shop for anything except inspections and one tune up.

    Small V-8 gets 17 mpg highway, which is my only criticism.

    I have a 2004 4-door Tundra. Has been in the shop for ball joints, transmission leak, drive shafts replaced (cracked universal joint).
    Poor gas mileage. Never buy another one.

    I bought a first year(2000) tundra trd 4x4, my wife still drives it, no trouble 8 years later. we get about 18mpg on the highway. my son just bought his second tundra, a 2007, he sure likes these trucks too. cant think of a thing wrong with the design or running of these trucks.

    I have a 2006 2WD Tundra limited extra-cab with a V8 in it. I have put 42,000 miles on it in 24 months with only standard maintenance required. I drive 104 miles round trip to work (mostly highway) and get an average of 19.5 mpg and that is running 75-80 mph. Although I like the styling of the 07/08, they are much larger and get fewer MPGs. I had 3 full size Chevys and 3 full size Ford trucks/SUV before this, my first Toyota and I have been surprisingly satisfied with the Tundra.

    Own a 2006 double cab 2wd--4.7 V8 Tundra. 28,000 miles---gets 16-17mpg city and 20-21mpg highway. 100,000 mile or 7 year warranty. Ball joints replaced (free) due to a recall. Love the truck and so does the wife----she drives it (alternates between her Lexus and the Tundra) to work. Comfortable and roomy.

    Course, we've been sold on Toyota's for several years and would drive nothing else.

    One of my brothers has a Tundra and the other has a Nissan Titan.Both trucks are dependable and solid. Both brothers complain about fuel milage.

    I've had nothing but F-150's 4 WD forever. When my 98 dies I'm going to take a real close at the Tundra. Everything I've heard has been good on the vehicle. Recently however some recall came up but other than that all reports AAA.

    Using this logic, I guess none of us should buy HK firearms, BMW's, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagens. Nothing British-made either, since their king once taxed us without representation, too.
