To be honest I don't even know who is in the superbowl. I love to play all sports, but don't care to watch any sports. I'd rather learn about things that affect my life personally. 0 -

Win what game? Oh, Oh, you mean the NFL (National Felon League) championship game; the Toilet Bowl.
Sorry, had to say it. I used to watch sports all the time before i had kids. So now I am confronted with the decision,
"Do i spend quality time with my kids (out at the range, hunting, camping, fishing, etc.) or do I use that time to watch a conglomeration of overpaid whiners (some who are indeed felons) shucking and jiving after they cross a white line?" Not a hard decision at all. I'm sure there are some decent guys playing professional football, and i do not direct my comments at all NFL players, but it is amazing to me how some of them collect astronomical amounts of money and still resort to a life of crime (drugs, murder, etc.).
Oh well, like my grandad used to tell me, "Shane, a hog'll always go back to it's own slop."0 -

A team reaches is on the doorstep of a success that is unprecedented in modern sports. A team of overpaid whiners (to paraphrase)has managed to come together to play a team sport as well as it can be done, and very few of you can come out and say you are rooting for them. Mostly you indicate that you either want them to lose or don't care.
I find this incredible.
I am not a patriots "fan". I have been involved in team sports for most of my life as a coach or player and I do know that this type of success is worth lauding.
Celebrate America dudes. Wrap yourself in this powerfully American pastime and be glad you have a TV and the freedom to pull for whomever you want.0 -

I never said they weren't successful or a good team, and i am quite certain that as professional athletes they have worked very hard to get to this pinnacle. It is that i simply "don't care." I do not live, eat, breathe sports like some people do. But i am not judging them for it. One of the great things about being an American is you have the right to the "pursuit of happiness", and if watching the "big game on Sunday" makes some people happy, so be it. It is one of those things though that is not on my list of priorities. I'd rather spend that time with my kids doing things that we enjoy and making a difference in their lives. Those are the things that i will remember years from now, and not who played in/won the Superbowl in 2008.
But, if that is what makes you happy, then you go watch foosball wid your friends Bobby Bouchet, but remember, foosball is the debil! [:D]0 -

To be honest, I won't watch the game either....except the part that is on during the commercials of the UNC/FSU game! I just get torqued when people downplay success.
