Looks like at least $450 to me, but I'm a poor Ba$tard who was a few rungs too low on the totem pole to get any of my Grandpa's guns.

If I were You, I'd consider it a priceless treasure!

Continuing here, since the Ask The Experts thread won't even allow editing.

Looks like one a these that's been refinished:

Thanks to rufe-snow for the info on the barrel length; I'm now convinced it's a Llama, since that's such an odd-ball length it seems unlikely other manufacturers would come up with it independently. This ad says barrel length on this particular model is 5", but it shows the side mounted lanyard loop, and together with the info that Llamas were made with 5.6" barrels, it seems fairly certain.

One thing I know for sure is that it is not a cheap made pistol and is not a Llama

...Well someone has sanitized the slide, milled all identifying letters/numbers off...and dinked w/the original serial(?)

...Has the old wide spurred hammer, probably a 20-40's era gun, but I can't tell. The fact the serial has been altered, if that is the case, is a BIG no-no, and that's for starters.

...GI's returning w/their US Property marked 45's after BOTH wars had a habit of having the slides milled to erase the "US Property"...as if to save them from Uncle Sam sickin' bloodhounds on em' to track them down for keeping their service pistol [:D] SO SAD!!!!! ...and MANY would take their Colt's to car bumper platers and have them CHROME their Colt's [xx(][:0], again, to "throw" the bloodhounds off [:D]...SO SAD AGAIN!! I have seen several of these old war horses that were chromed at car bumper plate shops, hideous I tell you...brings a tear to your eye.

...Pretty sure I agree w/most here this is a foreign 45, just have no idea why someone would butcher it...but I NEVER understand why people butcher guns. Like the Colt 1911 that was listed forever here that looked like someone "engraved" a skull with long crooked teeth (REAL POOR/BAD/TASTELESS!) using a hammer and a nail, unbelievable...[;)]
