    who makes the best 10mm pistol.

    Today is the day I fired off the carry ammo for my S&W1006. Cleaned it and charged the mags with fresh ammo. Shot up some cans out back and saw a bone the dog had lost interest in, you know one of those real big femur bones from a cow, about 24" long and weighs about 15 pounds. A 185 gr hollow points will splinter a 6 inch section of it, a 200 gr FMJ will do the same. Very impressive damage! I know a 10mm ain't a death ray but it sure splinters bone with great authority!

    Ive got a kimber tle II in 45, is it possible to change the barrel
    to convert to a 10mm, or should I sell and get me a 10mm?

    I was just wondering what your opinions were for a good carry ammo for a 10mm. I did my research for my .40s, and all I carry defensively in those are 155 gr. hydra-shoks and gold dots. 155 seems to be the most effective/best weight-velocity combo. What type of ammo (fed. Hydras, etc), and what weight are optimum? More specifically out of a short barrel. What are your thoughts?

    Anyone shot one? Pretty nasty recoil? I'm thinking about getting a Glock 20 10mm. Any feedback would be appreciated.

    I talked with the folks at Kimber
    they gave me all the info I need to convert.
    I might as well buy a 10mm.
    the amount to convert is quite expensive.
    so now I know, yes it can be done, but you
    pay dearly for it.

    ...I'm pretty sure it can be done, for enough money....maybe enough money you could just buy a nice 10mm and avoid the hassle.

    ...Dan Wesson makes a 10mm...not as good a gun since CZ bought them IMO, but a quality gun...with all WOLF springs and a LOT of "extras".

    ...Kimber made the Eclipse 10mm but the price is absurd when you can find a very nice Colt Delta Elite 10mm for a LOT less (some), and the Colt wont depreciate like the Kimber.

    ...The DE's have only climbed steadily in value, and continue to do so. First year runs (1987) of the DE's had a problem that was WAY overblown; but Colt still fixed the problem with a very small simple cut to the slide after the first run. There was the possibility that there could be a crack develop, maybe, once in a blue moon. ALL other"bad" things you might have heard about the DE are myths.

    ...The DE is a fantastic gun and the 10mm is an awesome round, VERY flat shooting (great hunting round!) and potent. Plenty of factory rounds to choose from, mild to wild...and mostly from Double-Tap.

    ...The FBI chose it as their issue gun but the female agents complained about the recoil, as all the loads for the 10mm back then were HOT. The 'fix'"?? The FBI had their armory dept. work up a 10mm load that was FAR less balistically than the .45!!!! So...in their infinite wisdom they felt THAT round was not potent enough, DUH, and dropped the DE.

    ...Rounds that are below and equal to the 45 in ballistics, or rounds that approach the ballistics of the .357, not the .357 sig...the .357 mag...I love my DE and the 10mm round...
