I was looking at the XD's about a year ago, I guess. And the ones I was looking at then, came bundled with a holster and other things, but the kicker is that it also came with a tactical light that clipped onto the rail. Now I can't find this package anywhere. Do they still offer it?

Hey guys & gals Dad was in the hospital in tyler last week for surgry
so I took some time off and while i was up there in between visits My bro. and I check out a indoor range. We are going to take a course at frontsite so we were checking out a few pistols (good reason to buy a new one hehe)and we shot a xd9 I really like and so did he were are going to each get a 9mm and a 40. Well my New springfield Arms XD came in today and I was able to go visit it, which I can continue to do until the ATF sees fit to give it to me. I want to thank Eric and Melinda for putting this together and keeping us informed while the deal was in progress.
Now for a little Rant
How can the ATF keep a gun for a period of time while they research me or what ever it is that they do. which by the way is nothing except make you wait.what is it that they hope to learn about me that they don't already know from making me wait every other time I purchased a gun, 4 since dec. 1 2007 and 4 more since the begining of this year.
And yes I am a CCW weapons permit holder.0 -
I went into a local shop, and they had a brand new .45 Springfield XD Service model (13+1) with a 4" barrel. It comes with the speed loader, holster, and double mag holders
They are asking $555, what do you guys think?
I was thinking of getting a used RIA 1911 for $460 with no accessories.0 -

Springfield has 3 inch and 4 inch 9mm. Besides concealed carry which I cannot do, which is a better gun for blinking at the range with my son? The 3 inch has a shorter grip than the 4 inch and that is all the difference is according to Springfield but I thought I'd let owners weigh in. Thanks! 0 -

I just bought my first XD from Cabelas new store in WV. Paid $329.99 for it. It seems they were supposed to be $389.99 but there was a misprint in there ad. It was such a good deal my FFL dealer bought a couple of them. They still had some left when I got off the phone. If any one is intrested in one heck of a deal here is the number to the store 304-238-0120. just stay on the line and ask for the firearms dept. I'm in Washington state and they are shipping for $35 or $40. I just hope someone else is able to as good a deal as I did. I can hardly wait to get back from Japan and take it to the range.

Hey Dave...I'm glad it came in. I don't know if this is something you'd be interested in, but you can apply for a special pin # with the ATF that would speed up your purchases. They have this set up for folks that get delayed frequently. I can send you some info on it if you are interested. 0 -

I don't understand your difficulty. Here in Texas, if the buyer has a CHL, we don't have to call FBI/NICS. If the buyer doesn't have a CHL, the NICS check takes only minutes, unless there is a delay or a denial, which is rare. 0 -

some folks get delayed on a regular basis...I've known quite a few guys that this happens too. A CCW permit waives the call here in ID, but it did not in WV...you still had to do the NICS check...varies by state.0 -
My late step father had a CCL here in Louisiana. He was delayed EVERY time he purchased a gun. I also have been delayed on every gun purchase that I have made. Would you mind sending me some info? 0 -

I have been delayed every time I have purchased a gun since this assinine system has been in place, and I know a whole lot of others who it happens to also.
One thing that I think is strange is that many of the people have had security clearances in the past, are delayed maybe thats enough to throw up a flag, I have never been denied just delayed.0 -

Never heard that one before...
Did you "fill-in" your SSN on the "form"[?] I know this is optional, yet I have heard this is the reason for some delays. I've never had to wait more than 5 mins, and have filled out dozens of yellow forms in the past, only a few white ones though.
No CHL here, and I think it (CHL) is the tool of Gun Grabbers.0 -

I have several customers with security clearances that get delayed all the time....moreso back east than here.0 -
I fill out those forms doting evey i and putting no n/a's in, i spell it out I'm still waiting and hoping that Eric can supply me with a way to overcome this problem, cause I would be at the range today.
I know this won't help but can anyone tell me how to get a c/r permit, or licence. I really like older guns they have more DIGNITY. ofcourse thats just my opinion.0 -

Dave, congrats on the XD. I love mine. Some states are just silly with background checks. Here in FL my ccl waives the wait. Back when I had to wait, weekends and holidays didnt count toward the 3 days. Makes no sense what so ever to me. 0 -

SOLVED? we are not supposed to have a waiting period in Ohio at all, if you pass a (SECURITY) background check you can take home your gun the same day. Now in my background there are no felonys no misdmeeners that are violent never beat my wives (all though I thought about it with the first and third) I held a high security clearance in the nuclear and defence industries and I cant take my gun home. 0 -
here in DE, CCW means you don't get run through state but still go through Feds. I still get delayed every now and then. It is annoying!!!! 0 -

wow, i didn't know it was like that in ohio. despite our ridiculous "safety inspection" laws here in michigan, and even before i had a ccw, i was able to walk into gander mountain and walk out an hour later with my XD in hand.0 -
In Florida even if you have CCW, a NICS is still done, although I bypass the 3 day waiting period for handguns, and can take it home right away,..........gee thanks all you government folks for the "privilege".
I have never had an issue.
