    You asked a question in another thread about agnostics and/or atheists asking for proof ....

    Maybe this will shed some light on it...


    Listening to a show on tv right now about guys on death row....Guy killed 6 ppl but he is forgiven according to him...He is going to meet the lord according to him...

    I was in yahoo games and one person summed it up rather well...He said he was a christian and could do what he wanted to do cause he was already forgiven by his lord...Yet according to "the christians" a non believer cannot enter heaven because he/she doesnt believe but a guy can committ murder, be forgiven, ...kill a child, be forgiven....rape a 2 year old, be forgiven....kill whoever, be forgiven etc etc but a non believer living a good life doing no wrong???....we are doomed to hell? and we get preached at, yelled at, scorned, damned etc cause we dont?..


    Maybe I should believe again (by the way, been there done that) ...then I could do whatever and be forgiven...do it again and be forgiven...etca etc and the list goes on and on..


    but then again, the "christians" will say, "but he isnt a true christian".....

    You realize that your statements do not reflect the beliefs of all Christians, don't you? Some Christians believe that to sin with full intent and knowledge of that sin (in otherwords, "I'll be forgiven") is unforgivable. Some believe that it represents a non-repentant sinner, and therefore an unforgiven one.

    You can't roll all Christians into a single belief. That is why there are so many denominations of Christians. Some believe that once you profess your belief, it's a blanket of forgiveness from that day forward, and some believe that asking forgiveness of each and every sin is required, and only good until the next sin is committed.

    You can't tell someone what they believe, you have to ask them and let them tell you.[;)]

    Don't pay too much attention to people like that BR. I don't think any brother filled with the Spirit of the Living Lord would feel a desire to take advantage of GOD's grace. There are many people who are Christians in self appointed title only.

    Why hadn't Jesus had given His life to the salvation of mankind earlier?

    ...think of all the extra souls that could have been saved. Just a thought. Joe

    Those that chose to be were saved Joe...and it was through their faith as well...the Scripture bears witness to this fact.

    I had to reconcile this issue for myself recently. I had decided that, if I were told that I had a fatal disease and only a short time to live, that there was one terrible sin that I would commit, and then gladly spend my few remaining days in jail. I reasoned that I could be forgiven for the sin before my own death, and thusly be saved.

    The Holy Spirit convicted me of this error, and I came to realize that I would be, as dheffley pointed out, an unrepentant sinner.

    I am still dealing with the issue of extreme hatred, but I am praying that it will lessen with time.

    David...Jesus paid the price for your sins past, present, and future. If you were to die without asking for forgiveness for any particular sin, you will be saved...if you are truly saved now. This is not to say that we should not strive to live our lives as Christ lived...and we do this out of our love for Him...not out of a works oriented faith. This is one area that true Roman Catholicism is off base on...they preach a works oriented faith...and that is no faith at all. If I were to commit some horrible sin (and sin is sin...none worse than another...except for one mention about sexual sin) and die the next moment, I know exactly where I will be spending eternity...and that is with my Lord God Almighty. Paul teaches on this freedom that Beth does not understand. A non-Believer just cannot seem to grasp the fact that Believers WANT to live for Christ...it's out of our love for Him. Most of us continue to fall short of the mark...and will do so until we die, but our goal is to continue to grow in Him and become more Christlike with each and every day...but our Redemption comes through our faith in him...and NOT ONE WORK that we may accomplish on this earth.



    I should mention, I do not believe our "freedom from the law" should be used as a "license to sin"...and I do not believe that any true Believer would look at it as such...but we are free from the Law.
