Mythbusters tonight
Yeah, most of their stuff is suspect, if not flat wrong, but tonight was awful.
[rant]they're shooting bullets past an electromagnet to see whether it will have any effect on the trajectory of the bullet. THE BULLET IS LEAD. EVEN WITH A COPPER JACKET IT IS NOT ATTRACTED BY A MAGNET!! They could have checked that without firing any bullets.[/rant]

I agree, but they are shooting on TV. And people love it. I think they need to do MORE of it!!! 0 -
I'm watching it also. They used lead core FMJ rounds to try and puncture the gas tank, they should have used military steel core FMJ's. 0 -
carrie is a pretty good shot dead centermass with 30-06 0 -
They did one a while back on shooting locks off doors ... it was pretty good [^]
... them Master Locks is tougher than I thought! In almost every case, it took a rifle (they were using a 30.06) or shotgun slug to actually break the locks.0 -

They also said that firing a tracer through a propane tank wouldn't set it off. I could understand it with a full tank, but why didn't they at least try a partial full tank. I think it would've gone off. 0 -

I have shot many "camping" bottles with tracers and never had luck setting them off. Now I have had good luck setting them off using incendary rounds.

The "science" on that show is very suspect but I am VERY happy that they at least shoot guns in a positive manner. I think the show is good for gun owners and gun rights. I just cant believe it is filmed in San Franscico of all places !!! Take THAT you California haters !!! 0 -

I can tell you that a .22 fired at a stick of dynamite from 50 feet away will not set off the dynamite. Even three such shots will not set off the dynamite.
However, once the three shots have cut the stick of dynamite in two, and a shot is fired from 15 feet at the two half sticks, it will set off the dynamite.
