    I had the opportunity to ride one of those with the doors open like that, however nobody was jumping out until we were firmly on the ground.

    What's the rope for?

    Back in my Cav days the guys just rolled out of each side of the chopper while it skimmed 6 to 8 feet off of the ground when we reached an LZ.
