I hate my manager...
I work at a Supply house and i think that i have the Biggest ASS H[:0]le for a boss.

I am lucky...my manager leaves me alone as long as my work is done and if there isn't a problem that needs attention. 0 -
There is 2 people that work here and I do more than my fair share of work. He averages atleast 6 hours of talking on the cell phone, atleast a 1 hour nap and the little bit of other time that is left he bitches at me for sorry I am.
Keep in mind this is a supply house. I keep inventory and do his damn job. All for next to nothing. 10.50/hr

i am plenty edumacated. I have done this type of work since i was old enough to crawl under a fikken house. I did Heating and air work to go to college.

There is a trade off if you want to try being the boss. The frustration and stress of having the entire load to deal with can be a lot more aggrivating than a prick of a boss to deal with. I wouldn't complain too much unless you want to increase the stress in other areas. 0 -
The BOSS is cool. My uncle. The manager is a guy who I have known all my life and my dad used to work for him too. Pops said he was an ass back in the day too.
I just hate him and would gladly take over his position and all of his responsibilties.0 -
Set the old camcorder up in a hidden spot and get him to bad mouth your uncle - naturally with a lil encouragement from you. Delete your part and show that to your uncle.

Keep working hard. Don't concern yourself with what the manager doesn't do. Just do your job as good as it can be done and try to do a little more. What i mean is, if you see something that needs to be done, DO IT. Don't wait to be told. Eventually the Manager will burn himself.

Read that book - or started to read it; found it one sided, illogical and offering few realistic solutions (IMHO), so just scanned most of it. The author assumes the terrible boss is always at fault... megalomania, psychological disorders, afraid for his own positon, etc.
I didn't see any discussion on how the boss earned his position, responsibilities/pressures placed on the boss, such as constantly dealing with whiny, slacking, irresponsible employees and how that might affect his management/leadership style.
Most importantly, I didn't see the author recommend the reader not be an employee of that type (maybe I missed it).0 -

I could read your post and interpret it to mean you have difficulting completing basic tasks, are not a thorough individual, and more than likely, you're a bad boss.
