SHOCKER!
So last night was had a few friends over for supper. I cooked what my wife likes to call "Whatchamacallit Pasta" because we've never really had a name for it. Basically it's just a homemade red sauce with any kind of meat you want in it (we usually prefer sausage).
So everyone is eating and (thankfully) enjoying it, when one of the guests says, "This is really good! Has a little kick to it!" To which I replied, "Yeah, that's probably the deer sausage; the processor added a bit more spice than I like, even though I asked for 'mild'."
His wife stopped eating and nearly dropped her fork.[xx(][xx(]

Then she sincerely thanked me, saying she never would have eaten it had she known it was venison. But, by putting it in without her knowledge, she was able to overcome the mental barrier and enjoy it, and looked forward to trying it again.

Did you show her your pictures of the deer hanging from the scale? That would have helped her digest the sausage [:D] 0 -
[:D] No, but she did ask if I had actually shot the deer myself, which I had. She thought that was cool. By no means is she anti-hunting, anti-deer-eating, etc. She was just always afraid to try it, and had a mental block about it. She was glad I snuck it in under the radar. 0 -

Had that happen to me, eating dinner at a friend house. Big and I mean big steak on the plate very tasty too. Then they drop the Bomb "Know wherethat steak came from" me No "Big Red" Big red was a huge Long Horn they had. Very friendly.
And very tasty.[:D]0
