Watching it on Spike TV now. Really happy Rambo finally went home. What do you think his Dad said to him?
"Damn son. We know Vietnam was messed up. But why did you take it
out on us? 40 years is a long time. And we could've used your help. Your Mom died in '97 calling your name. Where were you?

    Let me start by saying I go to a movie for entertainment, not to pick it apart.

    It was more graphic than all the previous Rambo's, they must have spent a ton on special effects.

    A little over the top, impossible odds of surviving and all that ... the bad guy was completely evil, brutal, and would pillage and rape and worse ... just for grins.

    I liked the way it ended.

    Pretty much what Kimberkid said, that had to be the highest body count I have seen in a movie. The head shots with his bow were awsome.

    Saw and enjoyed it. It's mindless entertainment that delivers a whole load of what can only be referred to as .50-caliber porn - the use of Barretts and M2's leads to some rather fantastic displays of ballistics-induced gore.

    It does go a bit over the top in demonizing the Burmese military, but let's face it, is there any way not to?

    I recommend it for a matinee viewing.

    I have a hard time paying money to see Stallone playing one-man-army when he is 61 years old.

    I'll catch it on Starz! or TBS, whichever gets it first.

    Actually, it was really good. he didn't have a lot of dialog himself, which was a good thing.

    I saw it yesterday, liked it. Pretty good special effects. .50 cal blowing people in half and severing limbs.

    Not much of a plot but lots of bad guys went up in smoke.

    I think the poise and sensitivity of Stallone's portrayal rivals that of Olivier in Pride And Prejudice and Ernest Borgnine in Marty. Rambo 4 is at once a meditation on the mutability of the warrior class generally and a reflection on lost purpose on the part of one warrior in particular. The violence of this movie is but a metaphor for the collective anger harbored by all combat veterans, not only for what they were made to undergo but for what they made themselves undertake. Rambo's bombed pecs, ripped abs and deep-cut quads are for any aging warrior totally to die for, especially if that warrior likes to sit waist deep and naked in a vat of warm gravy while lip-synching "The Ballad Of The Green Berets".

    DWS- thank you SO much. The computer monitor needed cleaning anyway, and Diet Pepsi sprayed on the screen seems to work quite well![:p] As far as the movie, not the worst fantasy/entertainment I have ever seen, not the best. Minmal connection to reality. Saw it with one of my grandkids, who criticized tactics and weapons handling in the flick (She is learning fast, but I'm sill a better wingshot) Serious comment: If you want to go for entertainment, go. However, take very little here seriously, just as you should not watch Woody Woodpecker as a nature study of woodpeckers.

    You took the words out of my mouth, Theres no way I would spend $$$ on a dirtbag that made so much $$ from the guns that he hates so much. I guess guns are ok in Hollywood!

    I've heard it was good. Only thing that bothers me is that it is reportedly barely over an hour long. Stallone was the one who pioneered the shortening of movies from 2 hrs to 1 1/2 hrs in order to get an extra viewing per day in. But a 1 hr movie is taking things a bit far.
