wierd hey...about a month ago i had a complaint along similar lines, and i got put through to a spanish sounding woman in the U.S., maybe its deliberate on the part of credit card companys so if you still are`nt satisfied they can blame it all onto language differences between the two parties, thanks for posting...i`ll take more notice next time iv`e got a complaint and get the run around on the phone!

Why don't you guys just use "AVAST"? It's FREE, and it's WAYYYyyy better than that NORTON CRAPP you're using now.
The supplier i buy all my PC components from, turned me on to it. THEY USE THE FREE VERSION AS WELL.I prob. build 15-25 PC's a year.I buy all my parts from www.a1000.com Their warehouse is right down the road from me, but y'all can still order online and save big money....

You need to watch your bank statements very closely.

I had some company called Homestead Technologies taking $45.00, MSN Web TV taking $11.00 and some other company that dealt music downloads for iPods taking $25.00 a month out of my checking account.

Even after talking to the bank and asking them to stop payment to those people whom I have never had anything to do with. The charges kept coming out of my checking account. After the second trip to the bank and getting a new debit card (which I never did have activated) the charges were still coming out.

Third trip to the bank. I rather rudely closed the checking account. It has been over six months and I still get letters from Homestead and the Music company wanting me to update my billing information for they are unable to bill my credit card..

It's good that you stopped the payments. Now get your money back.

James it is not worth the effort.

#1. The bank is no help. For I would have to prove to them that I was not the one that made the charges.

#2. I attempt to speak American Made English and never was taught to speak Jibsheetish.

#3. The bank that I was dealing with is at the point where they can not approve a $10.00 loan for anyone. For everyone that I know of has stopped doing business with them due to disappearing money from their checking accounts.

So I just wrote it off as a lost cause.

The new bank that I deal with now calls every time that a charge is suspect.

They did the same thing to me... I sent them an email telling them I did not want to renew and that I wanted the amount credited to my card or I would file a dispute with the CC company. They promptly (within 1 day) put the money back on my card.

I can't say I blame you for not wanting to put more time an effort into it than it's worth, and of course you have to do whatever you think is right.

For reasons that I don't fully understand, when anybody steals from me it makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up, and I'll do what is necessary to get mine back regardless of the amount.

The only one I ever lost was EXXON ripped me off for 50? in 1980. I never did get that 50? back, but I made them work for it. The last drop of EXXON gas I bought was in 1980, by the way. [:D]

About 6 years ago I fell for that www.freecreditreport.com the one with all the commercials. I gave them my credit card for a one time $1.00 fee. Low and behold one year later they billed my card $89.99 The FTC sued them and sent me a check. Ever since then, they have changed the laws so anyone can view their credit history for free once per year.

And I no longer use Norton, it will mess up a PC

I agree with most of the opinions of Norton. I have a few of my own Norton horror stories, but I still use it, mainly because I've gone through seven hells trying to uninstall Norton before, and I don't want to go through that again. All software providers are diabolical sadists and Norton is one of the worst. If you don't have Norton I'd recommend you don't get it, but if you have or have ever had Norton and want to get rid of it, I say GOOD LUCK!

Symantic did the same thing to me. Charged a 49.95 renewal fee when I had stopped using the product. When you first install the program they include "automatic renewal" in the user agreement page that no one ever reads.

Norton is a system resource hog of a program. I have Avast now and prefer it.

My wife and I have cancelled several services because of dysfunctional or nonfunctional service reps. Now, I am all for improving oneself, and if some young man in northern India is using his english to find an indoor job I say God bless him. But I have no tolerance for companies that sell me -- the consumer -- short, by shipping their service centers to save a few bucks -- only to create mountains of language difficulties. A product is only as good as its service and support.

    Go with Kasperski. Better product.

Wanna have some fun with the outsourced help desk types? IF you are multi-lingual, when they start using broken, badly accented English on you, you use broken, badly accented Korean, Vietnamese, German, etc on them. The confusion alone is worth the price of admission.[:p]

Same here. I logged in to my Norton account, sent them an email about the problem and they sent back a case number abd a number to call. I called the 800 number, gave them the case number and my problem was solved in a coupe minutes.

Heck, I would care is it was even a dollar. MC would still get a call.
I can enter disputes online. I usually check our joint charges weekly.
