I was wondering why the forum is moving soo slow, then i realized its 0130 on a sunday. I forgot not everyone works at night.

im still here...too early for bed and nothing on tv worth watching..just torturing myself looking at pistols and revolvers on the home page site...i dunno why i do it to myself...if only i was living in the u.s. i would have a top gun collection.there is so much that is available there. it is legal to own them here but they just arent available.it`s frustrating seeing it all. 0 -

yeah..no worries suburban...live in tasmania..thats the heart shaped island at the bottom of mainland australia...if you have google earth on your computer type in victoria esplenade bellerive tasmania australia and you will be able to see my house...i`m 43 married one daughter...on workers comp at the moment, my neck got crushed at work, the dr`s tell me i need a fusion of 2 vertabrae in my neck...and theres only a 60% chance it will help me.i love guns and hunting. i`ve hunted for a living in the past for meat and skins...now just for fun and food for the plate.had a lot of nice weapons before `96 now i`ve only got 5...4 rifles and 1 shotgun. just recently joined a pistol club here, thats the only way i can legally have hand guns here. not allowed to buy any until i`ve been a member of the club for 6 months...the laws stink here. then i can only buy 2...1 air pistol OR 1 .22 and 1 centre fire, after i`ve been a member for 12 months i can buy more, how many depends on how many different disciplines i shoot. if i have my way i will get a broom handle mauser an 08 mauser a colt peace maker 45 a colt peace maker in .22 with .22 magnum cylinder and i will also get a 1911 and a ruger mk 22/45 with the scope rail and mount. that will do me for awhile, then i`ll look around seriously once i`ve got the toys out of the way [:)]as i said, these pistols are legal here but finding someone who has them and will sell them is not easy!..i`ve been looking but no luck so far...thats how i found gunbroker.com....i got on to the batf website and found out that a ffl holder in the u.s. can export "sporting" guns if they fill in a couple of forms and also submit my permits from australian customs and tasmania police showing that i can own them here. i emailed a few ffl holders on the gunbroker.com site but i only got one reply and he said he doesnt export PERIOD!. so it seems i`m out of luck trying to get them from the u.s. thats about it suburban...feel free to ask any q`s you want answered. i dont mind a bit.even ones that your trolling fbi wouldnt like [:D]thats the good thing about not being in the u.s., the cia, fbi etc dont worry me a bit[8D] 0 -
Dan, ill check around and see if i can find some one who will export to you in Australia. Thats crazy man, all those laws. What event sparked the banning of weapons? Did you have to surrender your weapons? I couldnt see many people surrendering their weapons here! 0 -

hey, thanks suburban...it would be great if you could find someone there who would export....im not in any hurry though, stillk got my club probation to finish yet, and the one our dictators say i have to wait through!!...it stinks but there isnt much i can do about it though...the real stupid thing about it is that i can have one illegally in less than an hour! stupid hey? ...the laws changed here in `96 after a massacre at a place called port arthur..an ex pommy prison that is now an historical park...the "lone gunman" who did it is called martin bryant...it is a world record for the most murders committed by a loan gunman apparently...some record hey? but the politicians only used it as an excuse to take our guns...before then 3 stated didnt have registration of rifles or shotguns, and tasmania was one of them...a lot of people believe there was a conspiracy with it all...i dont know...but i do know beyond any doubt that there was a major panic and coverup after it happened!!!and the media were told about it and refused to print it or show it on tv !! it was mentioned once and the reporter was warned to shutup "or else!"...it would take me all day to type out what happened but if you type ....port arthur massacre ....into your search engine it might bring up some information for you....also ...martin bryant.... i handed in some weapons...it broke my heart, my ex wife handed in my l1a1 slr behind my back, she said she wanted the money to buy new curtains...as i said, she is my ex wife!!i loved that rifle...and it would be one of the first things i would buy if ever i was to emigrate to the u.s. and was allowd to buy guns!!...i could blow the hell out of a basketball sized target every shot at 1000 yards with it, and thats with the iron sights, with a scope it was even better. i got the rifle from the army...in those days they would sell you your firle if you wanted it and got a recommendation from your regimental c.o. other than that the other one i hated parting with was my winchester super x model 1 with the magazine extension on it, it was great for duck hunting and tops for hunting wallabys with dogs in the scrub. i never handed in everything, and the cops have searched plenty of times but they are wasting their time and tax payers money, the only ones i have on my property are all legal and registered...i might not be the most intelligent person in the world, but i aint the dumbest either [;)]..ive seen a leaked report done by the cops..they estimate that there is one illegal gun here for every 3 legal ones...so the laws have failed in a way, but in others they have been succesful...a lot of people just get that frustrated with the laws that they give up trying to get permits to have guns...but tasmania has some of the easiest laws as far as getting a licence...you just get a permit to hunt on government land and that is your legal "excuse" for wanting guns. the thing that hurt gun owners the most was our politicians at the time came out and said we couldnt be trusted with semi auto rifles and shotguns because with them we were potential mass murderers!!!.it hurt. ..anyway as i said, if youve got any questions just ask..i`ll answer them if i can...and if you do find an ffl who will export just send me an email ...you can do it from my profile page. 0 -
