Humitidy in Safe???

I will make this short and sweet. Does anybody know what the humidity in a safe should be for proper storage of firearms? [?][?]

  It depends more on the temperature and the dewpoint of the air in the safe. Throw in a golden rod which will keep the temp above the dewpoint. Go down to Lowe's and there are several things you can place in a safe that will absorb the moisture in the air.

  ...Use a Goldenrod and the bags of stuff that I cant pronounce or spell that absorb moisture...and keep the bags changed out as directed. For the outside of the guns get some FLITZ gun polish and apply a couple times a year or more with use...best stuff on the market.

  I thank you for the information. Hey, Colt, is that FLITZ a polish for the wood. All my firearms are wood except for my Blackhawk, Python and High Standard revolver which have Hogue, Pachmyer and some black plastic grips on the HS. The humidity usually stays between 40 and55%. I have been told that the humidity is too low then the wood stocks dry out and too moist,duh, rust. That sounds about right to me. I have a Moisture King De-humidifyer in the bottom sitting on a sheet of safety glass,might no be enough to eliminate all the moisture.I was hoping that there would be a reference book or chart where it would tell me the proper percentage of humidity.Thanks anyway, keep your powder dry.
