Drug raid gone bad.
TOLEDO -- One woman is dead and her one-year-old baby is recovering after being shot by a Lima Police Officer. The shooting happened after 8 o'clock, Friday night, in a Lima neighborhood. Colleen Wells went to Lima to find out what happened.
Concerned neighbors gathered around police tape in this Lima neighborhood early Saturday morning, looking for answers after a drug raid gone wrong.
Tania Wilson, Tarika Wilson's sister, says, "All I know is what my niece said, `her mom was shot twice and fell face first,' so, I mean, they're not telling us nothing.
At a press conference, the Lima Police Department says their tactical team entered Anthony Terry and Tarika Wilson's house on Third Street, looking for drugs.
Chief Greg Garlock of the Lima Police Department says, "At this point, the entry, the basis of the execution was done as it would normally be done. What happened inside, is what we have to look at."
When they got inside, the tactical team was attacked by two pit bulls and at some point shots were fired.
Lima Police says one of its officers shot and killed 26-year-old Tarika Wilson.
Her one-year-old son, Sincere, was also shot by police.
He was air-lifted to a Columbus hospital with what police are calling non-life-threatening injuries.
Anthony Terry and five other children in the home were unharmed.
Chief Garlock says, "This is a terrible situation that resulted from a dangerous situation that occurs when a high risk search warrant is executed."
Police will not say if Tarika was armed or threatened officers.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation is now taking over the investigation, piecing together exactly what happened. Residents say those answers cannot come soon enough.
Police say they did find drugs in the home. Anthony Terry is in police custody, being held on drug charges.
The officer involved in the shooting is on procedural administrative leave.
