    Yes. Or else kick out every player there who can be shown to have screwed up in any major way.

    Rose is a jerk. He has, to put it mildly, a gambling issue -- among others. But nothing he has been proven or is even rumored to have done helped him play any better, and play he did.

    The fact that baseball's powers-that-be and a significant number of its fans are able to even debate whether or not Bonds, Sosa, and the rest ought to have their achievements "asterisked" -- that none of the above seem to have had it occur to them that these guys need to be banned from the game, period, let alone from a *-less place in the record books -- causes me to feel that no one withholding the Hall Of Fame from Pete Rose has the slightest moral or ethical grounds for doing so. I'm being objective when I say that, too -- I gave up caring about baseball, above the little league level, years ago.

    YES!!!!!!!! When I was a kid we used to go up to Cincy all the time and watch the Big Red Machine. They were all hero's to me, especially Rose and Bench.

    yes, he was a great player, if a poor manager.

    His records were real, not steriod or hormone fueled.

    This is how strongly I feel Rose should be in the Hall. Shoff - is a name, 14 is a number I use because of Pete.

    The reason...
    Shoeless Joe...Every freaking baseball fan knows his story. If he were in th hall would be a forgoten player just like most of the other Hall of Famers from that era.....Fact is being shunned has made him 100x more famous....Same with Pete Controversy equals dollars for Pete Rose!!!
    As for being great there is little arguement that Pete was great, but I would rather have a Rickey Henderson as my lead off hitter than Pete Rose.... Pete sure would be handy in the 2nd or 5th slot!!!
    He damn sure wouldn't be my manager!!!
