Men trying to trace gun shoot themselves

CHAPARRAL, N.M. -- Two Southern New Mexico men are recovering after accidentally shooting themselves while trying to trace a loaded .357-caliber Magnum as a pattern for a tattoo.
The Otero County Sheriff's Department identified the men as Robert Glasser and Joey Acosta. Both are 22.
Deputies responded Thursday evening to the shooting in Chaparral, but Glasser and Acosta were already on their way to an El Paso hospital, the sheriff's department said.
Glasser was struck in the hand when the gun accidentally went off, authorities said. Acosta was hit in the left arm. The injuries were not life- threatening.

The recipient of the tattoo probably didn't want to look like a wussy by having a tattoo of an unloaded .357 magnum revolver tattooed on him.
