Picked up a Rossi Model 319 (G) for $150. Shows some wear.

Was wondering is this capable of handling 357 or just 38? Not up to date on the Rossi or the 38 or 357 cartridge for that matter and was wondering if someone here could help it out.

Wasn't able to find any info on this model. This is the only set of numbers I found on the gun besides the serial number.

  I bought a new Rossi .38 special M68 in 1992 for $169 I've neglected the little snubby over the years, but it will handle a hot .38spl +P. They're tough little revolvers.

  That looks like this one besides the serial number being on the bottom of the hand grip, also I am starting to think the barrel on mine is not factory because it has nothing on it. Maybe it is just way old or something. None the less. My first revolver and for under two hundred bucks I'm as happy as a fly on a fat pile.
  
  So it looks like the model 319 doesn't even exist. I looked in my blue book of guns, searched the web, and nothing. Wonder what those numbers mean?????[:(][?]

  Judging by the cylinder release, I'd guess that was an early production model.

  The frame on your Rossi looks a lot heavier then mine, the release is different but the firing pin looks similar with the hole in it..

  Still no info found. Maybe I should post in the ask the experts and see if I can get some links to some web sites there. What do you think?

  I did just find one thing interesting. I went to Rossi website and its system only contains info for firearms imported by BrazTech International L.C. Miami, FL.
  
  mine says Made in Brazil Firearms Int'l Corp. Washington D.C.[:0]
