Just a Thought on Illinois...
With all the CRAP LAWS that Cook County (under the totalitarian rule of Daley) has already laid on the people and the new proposed ones:
- No FFL dealers within 10 miles of each other
- No FFL dealer within 1 mile of a school, church, hospital, etc
- All weapons transported in a vehicle disassembled to non functioning state (how do you do that with a SW 686?)
With all this out there, why wouldnt the likes of Rock River, Springfield Armory, DS Arms, Les Baer, Armalite and others just tell Illinois (Blagovich, Daley and cronies) to shove their state up the proverbial southern highway and move their plants to a gun friendly state?
If Illinois passes another proposed law that prohibits the manufacture of any magazine that holds more than 10 rounds within their state borders, then these companies will no longer be legally allowed to make any for us (the PEOPLE) to use...only for law enforcement.
I understand it costs money to relocate, but it seems stupid to me to operate my business in a state that bans the very product(s) that I produce.
Is it just me? Or do others see this like I do?

and if you already have to transport a weapon totally separate from the ammo and the driver isn't this beating a dead horse?

As far as I know Les has moved or is moving to Iowa. Not sure about the others, but it will hurt them either way. It costs a lot to move a plant, and keep the workers or replace them. To bad the dumb elected people can wreck so much for so few.

The latest is them telling Cabelas they want them to stop selling firearms after building a superstore in Hoffman Estates. All of the times I been there it's the H.E.P.D. guy's at the counter buying their weapons, Cook County welcomed them with open arms and "Pockets" then stick it in their azz's William Beavers is the idiot that proposed this new law. Chicago and Cook County are prime examples of how the political machine does NOT work. I just find it hard to believe that ordinary, everyday, blue collar guys and gals would continually vote Daley into office.
There has to be corruption of an unprecedented scale in Chicago. Of course it looks like it is bleeding out of Cook County and straight into the Governors office now. Blagovich is going to put that state into such an economic sink hole they may not ever see the light of day again.0 -

Too bad it costs so much to relocate. Texas, Arkansas, Tenn, Kentucky and a few other gun friendly states would love to have them in their backyard.
Seems that almost all the firearms manufacturers started out in states that have since become extremely anti-firearm friendly (Remington, Mossberg and so on).0 -

Governor Chicagovich has crippled state politics. He has divided the Democrat party. Chicago Vs. Downstate democrats.
Then there are the Republican minority. They are not playing ball with either side of the democrats too much. Consequently, with the three fractions, nothing is getting accomplished. Lawmakers would sooner tell Gov Chicagovich to go to hell rather than pass any kind of bill he wants.
The Gov doesn't even spend nights in the state capital. He hops on his plane (a tax payer frindge benefit) and goes back to his abode in Chicago.
Heck at this point, the Goc calls Special Sessions and no one is showing up!0 -

William...I truly feel sorry for you and anyone that has to live there. Illinois is alot like California...they both are beautiful states, but the assclowns that run the place ruin it.
My uncle tells me of his younger years when guns were welcome in CA and hunting was wonderful. Now guns are bad and the tree huggers dont want anyone to hunt the poor defenseless creatures of the earth.0 -

Gunfunco, I tend to hope that most gun owners vote. However when it comes to Chicago and Cook County it seems that Daley controls it with an iron fist and no one dares oppose him.
Who are the majority of gunowners? I would venture to say Republican or Independent (not saying no Dems own guns at all).
Who are the majority of people on the welfare system? Minorities.
Which party supports the welfare system the most? Democratic party.
What party does Daley cling to? Democratic party
Chicago is a major Dem area and as long as they hand out the paychecks to these people, they will vote for them to stay in office. The majority of the people on welfare could care less if you or I have the right to keep and bear arms as long as they get their check every month. They will sell their soul to keep those types of politicians in office.
Personally I would love to see the people of IL hand Blagovich, Daley and their thugs their walking papers and turn that state back into a free state.0 -

Sadly, I live in Illinois. But the southern part...BUT we finance the pubic tranportation in Chicago, home of the free. This state wants to be like Califorication sooooo bad,,,its getting there. It is a state run by crooked assclowns for sure[:(!],,,nambu 0 -
Our last 3 governers have been under investigation. And Ryans just went to the country club in wisconsin. That place is nicer than my house. Gee what a punishment.

GUNFUNCO, I Have not missed a single local election, primary election, or national election since I turned 18 some 31++ years ago.
As long as Illinois is controlled by the Dimocrats in Chicago, there is no hope for Illinois. The Sheeple in Chicago will continue to Vote Democrap because it has always been in their best interest to do so....So as I said I am going to get out of here as soon as possible.
In the mean time, I will continue to call my Reps everytime a new attempt to curb my 2nd Ammendment rights comes down the pike and continue to fight the good fight till I leave.0 -
William-you are not the problem, but there are many that are.
I bought several guns off a guy about a year or so ago and he told me that he did not even bother tto vote in the last election.
I had to about drag my own brother to the polls last time to get him to vote. I actually called him the night before and the day of the election to make sure he got out and voted. That way his vote would offset my older sister who always votes goofy and my vote would count for something.[;)]
What you can do to help (if you are not already) is to motivate some gunowners to try to get them out to vote. If all of us just motivate one or 2 that wouldn't have otherwise voted, the gunowners would sweep the elections.0 -
I agree buddy...I talk to people all the time that complain about
how things are and will also admit they did not vote in the last election or two. We ened up re-electing a Gov. that could care less about anyone outside of Cook County.
I tell the non-voters if you did not vote, you have not earned the right to whine about how things are. I actually did get two guys I know to register and will ride them to make sure they exercise their vote.0 -
