Some say it does not exist. A 45 (long) colt, model 28-2. Or a 1955? You make the call. Don.

My first real pistol was a 25-5 in 45 Colt with 8 3/8. Very thin in bolt notch, don't push them hard. The best shot shooter without choke tube in a pistol I ever found. Moved up to a 29 10 5/8. Wasn't the 28 called Highway Patrolman in 357 and was a less perty 27? Yours is nicely done, looks like it would shoot. 0 -
Likely a 28-2 frame with a 1955 barrel and the cylinder bored to 45 Colt. Quite a few were done back before S&W made the 25-5 available.

I'm in the same sad boat-only 1 S&W here too-a Model 29 6 1/2" but I sure like shooting it. I used to own a 2 1/2" 66 but sold it years ago-wishing I had not done that. 0 -
i don't even own a S&W and only 1 Colt Cobra 38 spl. unless you would call an Argentine 45 a Colt. It was made on Colt machinery

I've seen recently something similar done in a Colt revolver - .44 Magnum. Would it give/take from it's collectors value?

I just got my first S&W. It was given to me by a relative and I haven't even shot it yet.
Did a search on GB auctions for a value but nothing was listed. It is an automatic 52-A in .38[xx(]
