MAYAN TEMPLE ( XUNANTUNICH) BELIZE

We are going on a cruise in April. I am looking at this side trip and was wondering if any of you have been there. I think we are looking at 2 hours both ways and 2 hours at the temple. My question is, the temple visit worth the travel time? Thanks Vince

    I haven't been to that temple, but I have been to the Mayan cities of Chichen Itza and Tulum. Unforgettable. If that ruin has a nice big pyramid it will be worth it. Google it up I imagine you can get the scoop.

    I googled it up. It would certainly be worth a two hour drive, and the drive itself would probably be interesting.
    I mean here in North Carolina a 50 foot mound of dirt passes for a great Indian site, in Belize the Indians were building 200 foot tall pyramids from stone blocks! Unreal.

    Been to many Mexican pyramids, too.

    They are what they are. It's a matter of what YOU want to see, as far as it's 'worth.'

    I've seen very bored and complaining tourists at Gettysburg or Valley Forge.
    I consider it a religious experience to visit either site ... never tire of visiting
    and revisiting those places ... and will revisit them again in the Spring.
