This year, the pecans ("pronounced PEE-cans" not "pe-KAHNS") are tiny in our yard.

Is this a result of the drought?

    Too much marijuana...

I think I killed our nut tree, was a 12-15 foot tall macadamia nut tree.

Used malathon to kill the termites on the tree......the tree lost all it's leaves.

I pray the sucker starts growing again.[V]

Poor tree....I got no nuts.....be happy with your small nuts.[:p]

It is a result of mispronouncing pe-KAHNS.

+1 A pee-can is what you keep under your bed in case you have to go at night and it is 0 degrees outside. Not everyone has indoor plumbing.[:D][:D][:D][:D]

The size of the nut is determined by the amount of fluid received during the fill stage. If during this stage, things are dry, the nut will not fill and will mature as small. Sometimes, it will also be shriveled and not full. I hope this helps. Don

In the area of the real South that is famous for pecans (Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia) they are known as pe-kahns.
Movies made in Hollywood have Yankee actors incorrectly asking "for another piece of that bodacious peekin' pie"

Sorry to bust your bubble, but, I live in the Pecan Capital of the World, Albany, Georgia. It is pronounced PEE-CAN. However, I pronounce it Pe-Caan. I farm over 3000 acres and this year harvested almost 3 million pounds. This has been a record year for everyone. Now, go out and buy some. Don

Sorry to bust your bubble bud, but Georgia is the peanut and Vadalia onion capital of the world. Mississippi is actually the Pe-Kahn capital although Alabama and Georgia grow some.
