about religious threads
first this is not about a religion thread, this is about respect, both sides have lost total respect for the other{not everyone but enough to represent each side}, but allow me to point out a few things
1.i have seen very few if any religious discussions get locked or poofed in the history of gb, until now, and it appears very much to one sided as to why this is occurring now{don't like what you hear so take your toys, and go home}
2.actually from a christian point of view to lock religious debates is plain wrong because that would mean the atheist win
3.many of you who claim to be christian are slacking very much in your replies advocating the locking of these threads, for one it is your duty to spread the word
4.i think it was a poor choice of words on nunns part to state "locking religious threads", and will be misinterpreted more than the book of revelation, the threads that have occurred over the past few days should be poofed, but not for the subject, but for the ignorance, arrogance that has occurred
5. to reply to a prayer thread in any way than positive is just plain wrong i don't care who you are
6. bushmaster you have made your point very well, however you are taking it to a different level, i understand as i think many do right now is not the best time for you personally, but you should not take it out on those here, regardless if you know it or not a lot of people here consider you a friend

I agree. The only thing is that if a member says he doesnt want to hear, then we should stop telling him. Again basic respect.
That member should also respect the believers by not posting on their thread to antagonize them.

In point of fact that is not taking your statement out of context, it is merely questioning whether religious debate is a contest with winners and losers. 0 -
I think it's a good idea. Religion shouldn't be discussed so much
here - it really diverts attention away from more serious issues
like gay bashing, pink firearms, NRA, etc.

this does not stand a chance of not being poofed or locked but here is my 2cents worth,,,,,the above line is what is wrong with most of the religious post in here,,I do not share your same beliefs and I do not appreciate people trying to force feed me their religion because they think it is their duty,,,when you are doing that it makes you no different than a Muslim forceing their religion onto all non muslim believers,what you are spreading is THE WORD as you see it but everyone has the right to their own beliefs,when someone does a thread asking for prayer,,thats great,,you are asking others with your same belief for some comfort and backing and I have the option of not opening that thread,,no problem,,but many of the religion post are trying to give me your WORD and quite frankly,,I dont want it0 -

not my word, i'm a non-believer{lol}
as far as who wins or looses goes those who are in church right now and cannot reply will understand, i was referring to the big picture of Christianity, not a single argument here on gb0
