product code MS Word ??

A buddy lets anyone and everyone mess with his system and somehow MS Word got reloaded and now we can't access it without the product code. The OS code doesn't work and he doesn't have a clue where the original disk is or if he even had it.

Any way to get around this?

  What system are you running?
  Win 98 it can be found in the Regedit.
  
  XP it is nearly a lost cause.

  Thanks, got your email. I'm at home now (posted from his place) and don't know for sure but I know it said "2003" in the title somewhere.

  Sharing copies is illegal and conspiring to do so is probably a violation of forum rules as well.

  No one said anything about illegal sharing. If you have an OEM copy of the software that came with another computer, you own a legal copy. If you have more than one copy, you have copies to spare. I would help Henry, but I think it's an older version than he needs.

  pro version allows you to put it on many computers, don't recall if it said how
