Could be food/feed on the deck/in the yard all winter could be penned deer also. I'll bet there's feed/corn in that white tub there.

My brother lives in the middle of Overland Park, KS. Last snowstorm, he had deer tracks diagonally across his back yard.
Here in our tiny hometown, we don't even get coyotes inside the city limits.0 -
I live in a town of 6500 and 1 and 1/2 block from court house in center of town. Last year I had 3 deer walk down the alley and came right up to my back door. I hunt deer every year about a mile from the house just outside of the city limits. I have had to stop many times to let deer cross the street while driving in the city. It is hard to find any resident that hasn't hit a deer in or close to town at one time or another. I can take a visitor out to see deer and can show them on average 20 to 50 deer wihtin 30 minutes or less. Many more than that at dusk. No shortage of deer here. Common sight. We eat a lot of venison. And, this is not the most heavily deer populated county in the state by far. You can get like 5 extra hunting permits to bow hunt them in many large cities in this state and encouraged to do so. And you can use a crossbow too. 0 -

Notice the 3rd deer off the porch at the wooden railing. 4th deer at the woodline. My sister throws stale bread out the back, and they come up to the house.

Last month, early morning, walked out to where my firewood is stacked, found one of our kittens sitting atop the stack, nose to nose with a curious whitetail. No camera (and no rifle, dang it!) but yes, that could well be a real image. 0 -

I am surrounded by overland park, they annexed a lot of great hunting land, and developed the bejeezus out of it. Pretty much all of the greater KC area is developed, with lots of deer still here.
Now all the deer have plenty of hunter free area to live and breed, and interact with cars.
We are having more cougar sightings in the fringe areas. Not many, but enough to freak people out.0
