I finally took my CCW class the other day. Most all of the handguns people brought were what I expected.....a couple .38s, the rest mostly all compact semi-autos (I took my Glock 19). Except for one guy who brought his Taurus "Judge" model revolver.

I had heard of them prior to the class, but I'd never actually seen one. In case you don't know, it shoots .410 shotgun shells or .45 Long Colt.

We were all quite interested to see what the buckshot loads would do to the target a 7 yards but the instructer wouldn't let him fire the shotgun rounds on the range. He ended up doing the live fire with the .45 Long Colt rounds.

It was certainly the most intimidating weapon on the firing line

    i have seen them and handled them. always though i wanted one till that point. IMO they are to big and bulky to use as a carry weapon. i now carry the bond derringer 3" in 45 or 410

    I wanted one and was going to buy one until last week. Once again I've changed my mind. I want a big azz revolver and now am leaning towards either a Redhawk .44, or maybe something in .454 so I'll have the option of shooting .45LC. I don't have any need for one other than that I just want one to compliment my GP100. Need to pay off my XD and Para before anything else though.

    I'd like to have one for home protection (ie: short 410) but I am not going to pay $500 for one.

    I'll wait untill I can find a good deal on a used one in good shape.

    I have shot one with buck shot and bird shot. The patern is not to bad on them at about 7 yards.

    He passed easily

    For what its worth, according to the "Box 'o Truth", the .410 loads (birdshot and buckshot) are inadequate for a defensive role.

    i have killed a turkey with one and i can asure you it was more than 7 yards

    I wouldn't mind having one as a novelty item, but I don't see any practical use for one. I'd rather spend the same money on a real gun.
