Sig 556 rifle

Equalizer
I have a chance to get one at what I belive a good deal ,,,Whats the word on these guns are they worth the bucks.. Sig 556 rifle ?

    I've heard nothing but good reveiws, but at the price I'd save my money for the Hechler & Koch MR223(civilian version of the HK-416) slotted for US release late this year. They are setting up for production at the Wilcox HK plant in New Hampshire so the import rules will not be an issue like they have been on the HK USC.

    oddly enough i just held one this evening.

    light short and fast a cool 1250.00 though and it was previously owned

    $1250 sounds like a preety good price. I've only priced the bells and whistles super swat model, but those run $1950+ new.

    like i said "previously owned" dont know if it had been fired or not and the only accessory i could see on it was a mag coupler with one mag. outside of my budget so i didnt ask further

    Sold one in the store for $950 used. They are nice and worth a bit more than the other ARs out there...but the sites are the only thing I hear people would like to be better.

    Do a search on Sig 556 at this link(http://forums.gunbroker.com/search.asp). I think you will find some posts from Kimber to be quite informative. Me....I think it looks and sounds like it might be a fine weapon. Seems to be a Heinz 57 mix of an FAL, AR 15, and an AK by design.

    They are nice guns, I have one but not much trigger time on it yet.

    It is all true Sig 55x series rifle with the exception that it takes AR mags, and has a rear stock hold threaded to use AR style stocks.

    On the standard ones it is not a matter of better sites but the fact there is NO sites. These are called "optic ready" which to me screams "BS".

    I picked up the "SWAT" model which does have sites on it but they are barely good for back up sites. I do like the railed hand guard set up. They gun weighs a bit more then an AR, but is still handy and all the controls are in the right spot.

    Here is a pic of mine. It came with the Sig front pistol grip and light combo. I am not a fan of the shaped front grip so I put a round grip on and the light lives in my pocket. I added a C-More site with is a great match for this gun.

    While I do not dislike AR stocks this gun should not have one. I plan on putting a side folder on it.
