Update on South Dakota campus guns

Governor Rounds says he agrees with state lawmakers who support a bill that would let law-abiding people carry guns on the campuses of South Dakota's public universities.
The measure has overwhelmingly passed the House.
Rounds says he hasn't read the specifics -- but he says he doesn't think allowing guns on campus will create more problems. He says people intent on using firearms for harm don't care whether guns are allowed or not.
Rounds says it's not the law-abiding citizens who commit crimes -- and a criminal will bring a gun on campus regardless of what the law says.
The bill would prevent colleges and technical schools from restricting the right to carry or possess a firearm. Schools could require that guns kept in dormitories be stored in a locked gun safe.

Doesn't he know that it's not people that kill...It's those horrible guns that kill.. Those horrible guns just start whispering to people and the next thing you know, the horrible guns have mind-control over people. Then, using people like some kind of evil tool, those horrible guns just go out and kill innocent babies and nuns and college students.0 -

Unfortunately, the senate voted against the measure, 7-1. Apparently the intelligence in elected officials isn't quite as prevalent in the senate. 0 -
