oldemagics
if i do anything besides 1911 grips, here is a set for one of our members for the Ruger blackhawk/vaquero.
except for this grip, i would need a set of your old ones to make a patern...

    Dan, since we dont have to worry bout it being a gun...sure
    might be a bit more for the shipping tho
    it usually runs me about $4.60 U.S. for shipping in the continent, dont know what it would be to you.

    thats great to hear keith...when the time comes i`ll drop you an email and we can work out all the details...with our gun laws here i cantbuy ang handguns for a few more months yet, but when i do i intend to get a ruger saa .357 and a ruger single 6 for my first two.

    it is a constant search for nice stuff Dave
    the matching blocks those were cut from i actually found on e-bay of all places
    craft wood suppliers, lumber yards and checking at the local flooring lumber and saw mill sometimes turns up nice wood
    i also make regular checks of local shops for broken stocks being thrown away, some of the old stuff had nice wood that was too fragile for a rifle or shotgun stock that would actually be used in the field, but smaller peices for grips do o.k.
    like i said a constant search everywhere i go...
    have to get to see a guy soon that gets "all kinds" of exotics for high end furniture, he may be interested in selling cut-offs that he would otherwise burn or throw away as too small

    those grips are black walnut from a crotch.
    i look for just about any hard wood with good grain figure ro color striations, crotchwood and burl are especially nice to find because of the beautiful paterns you find.
    looking into some desert ironwood for near future as well as some others

    I hope you don't mind, but I played with your pic a little, just because I wanted to see the grain a little better.

    not a problem critter, for some reason this digi-cam does a great pic when i load it on the puter, but they get fubar dureing the upload to the web...starting to really piss me off
