WHO BUILDS THINGS

out of wood from bird houses to people houses. How about furniture? Guess I should say as a hobby or a living.

    WC wouldn't RC55 be a little better? 62+ is on the brittle side.

    Good question and one that knifemakers will disagree on. I think 55 is way to soft. A three dollar paring knife will be in that range and you'll have to agree, they don't hold an edge for long. In fact, I probably didn't get mine to 62, I shot for that but didn't have all of them tested to see where they come out. When I tempered mine, I protected the cutting edge with wet felt and 'scorched' the rest of the blade with a butane torch. This left the cutting edge hard with the back of the knife tough.
